We are spending all day today at Primary Children's. I am sitting in their library typing this and remembering how much this blog helped us while we stayed here for 3 months. I can't say I miss it, but in a way we felt so blessed while we were here. Carol is sitting with Lizzie as she wakes up from her sedation from her MRI. We soon go to visit our Neurosurgeon, then on to our Physical Therapist this afternoon.
I left for awhile to do an errand and Carol said they had a really tough time finding a vein for Lizzie's IV. She had to get poked 4 times and was screaming "Daddy!" :( I wish I would have been there for her. We stayed at the Ronald McDonald House last night for the first time. It was nice to spend some special time with Lizzie and to not have to wake up at 5 am. It is a really nice place. There is a wall that has photos of children and their families that have stayed there. Coming to Primary's is good to keep things in perspective. There are many people that have difficult issues that they are dealing with and we are grateful Lizzie is doing as well as she is with her recovery. It is nice to be the beneficiary of others kindness and generosity sometimes. It makes me want to be more generous and good in the future and support worthwhile causes that help people who may be having a difficult time. There is so much crap in the world today and there are a lot of dirtbags out there as well. But there are a lot of great and generous people out there as well and the world is overwhelmingly a good place.
Being here reminds me of all of the kindness that was shown to us. We'll never forget it and will be forever changed by the kindness, love and prayers that were offered in our behalf. We feel fortunate to have such great friends and family.
One piece of really good news: I am taking Carol to San Francisco in early August for our anniversary(late July). I have been wanting to take her there forever and I had a great month with work in June. I can't wait and I am looking forward to a vacation with my sweetheart. She is much more in need of it that I am, but we are excited for a little vacation and time together without the kids.
Hopefully we will have good news with the rest of our Dr. Appts today. Hope all is well with our friends and family!
Here is a little quote I'll end with:

I am sooo jealous you are going to Cali! Carol does need it so bad and I hope you two get a chance to enjoy yourselves! So glad Lizzie is doing great. That is awful about the IV sticks! Darn it! Give Carol a hug for me!
Glad to hear Lizzie's doing well! PCMC IS an amazing place and count yourselves as those who are generous and caring---we'll never forget your kindness and thoughts for our family...thank you again and continued prayers for your family!
Let me know if you'd like some great things to see and do while in SF. I lived half hour away for a bit and found a lot of great out of the way, not so touristy things.
