So good to all be here, but wow, what a crazy day.
Lizzie and Ben got here around 3 and Lizzie went right to sleep. She didn't seem overwhelmingly pleased to be home, but she's still pretty out of it and so we'll just assume she is happy to be here with everyone.
We had such a warm welcome home. First, some good friends had come in and deep cleaned our home...I can't imagine what they found, but I'm grateful for their service. We had a fun sign on our garage, sidewalk chalk decorations, balloons everywhere, flowers on the counter and a yummy dinner brought to us - we felt so welcomed and happy to all be here...and then, the fun began.
We had our endocrinologist's assistant stop by our home after dinner and she brought some little baby bunnies for Lizzie to see. She was also there to talk to us more about the meds and emergency cortisol shots that we would have to give Liz in the event of an situation like a broken bone, fever, vomiting, etc. - Lizzie's body doesn't produce cortisol to respond to stressful situations like those so we artificially give her the medicine.
Anyhow, the bunnies were on the loose...Calli was terrified and kept jumping on Lizzie. Lizzie went ballistic and was so ticked off that Calli would even touch her. Then the bunnies went to the bathroom all over the floor...seriously, it was nuts.
After the assistant left, we went on a little walk...only made it about 3 houses up and then back home. Lizzie was pretty tired. Then I notcied that Calli's eyes were all goopy and red - a textbook case of pinkeye - ugh, so it was down to get a prescription. Calli threw about 10 different tantrums in the store, which is pretty rare for her - I think we're all a little in shock with all the changes and Calli is so off her schedule that she is starting to meltdown.
Then we got home and Spencer took off his sock and showed us the most horrible ingrown toenail I've ever seen, so it's off to the pediatrician tomorrow for him. It's actually getting quite humorous around here - we are becoming the home of the plague!
Lizzie was so sweet tonight - Ben and I keep looking in on her to make sure she's okay. We are worse than those annoying nurses we have complained about. She just needs lots of rest and rehab right now. We are so glad we're home, but we had kind of forgotten what life with multiple little children is like, so fun but oh so crazy at times.
Life is so very good and we couldn't be happier to be home with Lizzie!

Some how those are the daily struggles we all need to be thankful for! WOW! You could make millions if the "family circus" guy knew you. I am so glad you are home, I hate to ask . . . maybe you forgot, are YOU feeling better!?! We wanted to bring baby kittens over in a week or two to visit . . . maybe not!!! HAHA If we can do anything, we too would love to. We think about your cute family often and pray that things will go smoothly as you try to find a new routine. Welcome Home! We love ya!

I said it once and I'll say it again! I'm SO EXCITED for you guys! Even though it's tough to care for kid who is sick and sometimes crabby. We'll be praying for the ingrowns, tantrums, and bunny poop to stop! :-)
Welcome home! What can I do? Laundry? Dishes? Decontaminating for pinkeye? Dinner? A shoulder to cry on (happy tears I hope)? Please let me know if I can do anything.
I am so glad you are home!!! I just hope that things continue to get better!!! I would LOVE to bring dinner one night.
