Lizzie is in a lot of pain from her surgery - she is on some heavy narcotics right now, but is cheerful. She is going in for x-rays in just a few minutes b/c her body is extremely bloated and they want to check to make sure everything's okay inside her.
Last night she was in a lot of pain again as well and it was a bit of a rough night. A few nurses about got punched in the kneecap :) because they kept turning on the lights in the middle of the night - seriously, it was the first time anyone found it necessary to flip the lights on and then Lizzie had a hard time getting back to sleep each time - I'm sure it's evident that we're ready to go home as far as sleep is concerned, but she is still not stable enough yet...here's hoping for the first of next week.
We are glad she's fairly stable and we'll be going in for more CT scans maybe tomorrow to make sure the fluid is draining, etc. We have had a couple just quiet peaceful days and Lizzie has been smiling a lot and giggling. We are happy, but ready to be home! But, it's probably one of those things that once we do get home, we'll be wishing for the hospital because of all the care she needs.
On a happy note, Lizzie took her first wheelchair ride outside today - it's the first time she's been outside in almost 3 weeks - it was fun and she is making baby step progress everyday.

This was obviously posted by Carol. A punch to the kneecap..... please. I would say something along the lines of "I was about to personally deliver someone down the hall to the ICU." Or "I was about to punch out the nurses lights when they turned our room lights on." :) All I know is that they know better than to turn the lights on when I stay here......or I sleep through it.
Lizzie's bloating was because she is backed up, but they are going to take care of it........if you know what I mean. Lets just say it will be a pain in the butt.
Also, they told us that she may even get to go home on Friday if her doses of medicine are stable. We are excited and scared to death at the same time!
Well let's just hope and pray she can finally come home Friday! I think she will be able to recover quicker in more familiar surroundings and surrounded by those who love her 24/7! I want her home!!! I bet the wheelchair ride outside today was sooo good for her and the weather is supposed to just get better all week so hopefully she will be able to have a few more rides outside! Love you guys!
Friday would be good. No, excellent-I know that you need to go home. Home is good for the heart! I am hoping that they can get all of the issues worked out-We still pray for you! I love you! Please, let me know if there is anything you need!
Baby steps is right! I am sure it is a catch 22 situation, home sounds so good although all the help sounds good too! I am happy she has been giggling and you have been able to see the sparks of your little Lizzie
Yea for a nice ride outside! And double yea for getting closer to comeing home!!!
