Oh how we
love Kauai...the warm air, the smells
(coconut, sugar cane, flowers, the ocean), the food, the hotel, the swimming, the snorkeling, the whales, the hiking, the boat rides...I could go on.
The only thing I didn't love was the 6-hour plane trip over the Pacific Ocean...ugh, I've seen too many episodes of LOST.
Here are the highlights:
This is beautiful Queen's Bath...we felt like we were on our own secluded island snorkeling here. It was so gorgeous and we loved the fish! The only drawback was the wooden board with notches on it to show how many people had drowned there.

Right by our hotel was this little cove area where sea turtles rode the waves, all day, everyday...the little head peeking out at the bottom was one of our little turtle friends. We loved just sitting there watching them.

This was the first time snorkeling for both Ben & I...we loved it, minus the first few seconds when we would hyperventilate. We saw such amazing things and absolutely loved it.

We had a luau at our hotel one night...it was a lot of fun - I just wish they would have picked Ben to go up on stage to dance - he has such "good" (
please note sarcasm) moves from his Madrigal days!

One of our most favorite things was our sunset dinner cruise to the NaPali Coast...it was breathtaking and we loved every minute of it.

Okay, so one of the funniest, best things that happened on our trip is that we were sitting in church and looked over and there is Ben's cousin Josh and wife Mercedes...some of our most favorite people in the world. We had no idea they were in Hawaii...we had such a great day with them...minus Aunt Liz falling off Kipu Falls that is!

Sunset on our dinner cruise - I love this pic!

Just more beautiful sights from the dinner cruise.

Just one of the many geckos we saw & that Ben caught

We had seals on the beach right on our hotel beach...Ben was in nature heaven

The food rocked! We were so lucky to be able to go and can't wait to go back!

looks like lots of fun!! The first time D and I went snorkeling, we both got stung by jelly fish. It was horrible. I might be willing to try again in Hawaii though!
I bet it was soo fun to realax with no kids....however, was it hard to leave them??
All right, you just trumped Sun Valley:) Awesome! Did you guys boogie board or body surf or whatever you call it? Your looking pretty dang hot there on the beach!
