Conversations Overheard...

I love to listen to my kids talk to each other at night. They don't know I'm listening, but I can hear them just down the hall.

The majority of their conversations revolve around laughing about potty talk and saying words like "poop" or "pee." Why is it that potty talk is so funny...the other week in primary we had a word scramble on the board and it happened that the letters spelled out poo.

The kids were getting hysterical about it and I have to admit that I was sitting there shaking on my seat almost laughing out loud. The teachers were looking at me as if to say, "Shouldn't you be doing something about this?"

Anyhow, some of the conversations I hear are just so sweet and it melts my little mommy heart to hear what they say to each other.

Here's a few snippets of what I hear:

Lizzie - "Spencer, you're my best friend ever. Am I your best friend?"

Spencer - "You are my best friend with Matthew, Caden and Staley too."

Lizzie - "The next time I get a treat I will save it for you and not give it to anyone else."

Spencer - "And the next time I get a treat I will save it for you too unless I give it to one of my friends."

Lizzie - "Brovver, will you get me a drink?"

Spencer - "Yes"

Lizzie - "Okay, I want water with ice and I want the pink cup."

Kids are the best and I love listening to how they interact when they don't know I'm listening!

I love it! You are such a good mom! I am so jealous of your mothering skills!
My kids would probably just yell at each other and cuss swear words at each other. I need to work harder and be better like you! I love ya and your example!
