I was thinking today how wonderful young children are...they really do see everything in black & white...it seems to get more gray as they get older.
Today we were driving and my kids saw a lady next to us smoking and they quickly pointed out that smoking is bad and on and on. I think they see themselves as the anti-smoking task force.
We then went to lunch with Ben and there was someone smoking outside on the patio with us. They hurriedly asked me "Is it okay for her to do that out here?" I said it was okay and they said, "Well, I'm never going to do that, it's bad for you."
I love how easily they just accept the information you give to them as the truth and don't question you. I wish it would stay that way.
Some of my older primary kids have begun to question things. Like yesterday we had a sharing time on listening to good music, etc. They questioned me on what exactly was "good music" and was rock okay and on and on. I tried to explain that we each have a compass inside (The Holy Ghost) that will help guide our decisions and help us to feel if something is right or wrong. They had so many specific questions that I couldn't answer...it really is such a gray area.
I guess as moms we can only hope that we teach them the difference between black and white so well that as the gray areas creep up that they will know how to choose.

So true, so true! Sometimes I wish I still had people telling me what to do. OH, wait... that was Satan's plan. Any way.. Your little ones are cute and I am sure they are full of personality. I too wish we lived closer.
