I love summer! I love the fact that instead of towels hanging on our towel racks in the bathroom, we now have swimming suits. I love corn on the cob, watermelon and shaved ice...things you can only get during the summer (unless our fun neighbors, the Wares bust out their shaved ice machine later on in the year).
I love the fact that my kids have the cutest little tan lines and that Calli thinks that hoses are her personal drinking fountain.
I love vacations (not so much the vacation laundry though), I love the early morning sunlight and the millions of birds that wake us up each morning and I love, love, love being warm (I can't stand to wake up when it's dark & cold outside, so depressing!) We have had a great summer, but yet, I don't like a few things about summer too:
I had such good intentions of doing school with my kids each day, but we only end up doing that 2 times a week if we're lucky - anybody have any tips on how to get S. to start writing his number 2's frontwards instead of backwards?
I despise how there is grass and sand all over my carpet at all times because of everything that gets tracked in, not to mention otter pop wrappers everywhere.
I seem to be so much more productive the rest of the year...but I guess that's what summer is for, right? A break from the routine.
I don't look forward to S. going to 1st grade (sniff, sniff) but being on a schedule will be nice again!
Here are some fun pics from some of our non-routine summer fun:

Yum! Watermelon Rind is the best.
My hubby and his brother...aren't they adorable? This was one of our white trash days that our neighbors probably wanted us to move...a million people over doing stupid human tricks and making fools of ourselves...ahh, good times!

Playing with cousins at Bear Lake...I love that my kids have cousins their age, it's so fun!
