Lizzie has had a great night - she seemed to perk up and she is more willing to turn her head to the left tonight - something she has resisted doing before. Her fever is still low, heart beat looking better and tonight I was able to ask her some questions that she was answering correctly.
She is still having lots of hallucinations - it's pretty funny most of the time. The doctors have explained to us that when anyone suffers a brain injury they often spout out words they don't normally say. With adults, it usually involves a lot of profanity. With Lizzie, it's lots and lots of potty talk. I'm sure there is a part of her that's inside giggling and saying, "ha ha ha, I can say whatever I want and there is nothing my mom can do about it."
Tonight "Spencer" was again her imaginary pest in the room and just bugging her to no end. The following is a pretty accurate quote of what she said (warning: if you don't want your kids to pick up some potty talk, don't read this to them). Lizzie: "Spencer you are a butt butt butter butt butt head, pee pee, poo poo head, butt butt, I hate you."
Lizzie has always been our child that we have had to work with on not saying potty talk, so I'm pretty sure she's enjoying herself immensely!

We still love hearing your updates- and are still praying. Hang in there!!
Hee hee! I think potty talk is funny too. It sounds like there have been some little improvements! Yahoo for that. I hope you guys get some sleep tonight.
My eyes fill with tears each time I read your posts. Thanks for the little laugh, I'm sure it's great to get one in every once in a while. Tyler would get along great with Lizzie and the potty talk, he just thinks using those words is so hilarious :)Nate drives back and forth to SLC everyday, so please call us and let us know what he can bring to you. We're thinking of you every minute!
That is sooo funny! And it sounds like she is doing better! You are so cute and wonderful to keep us updated on her and you guys! I love you so much! My Mom once told me after all of the rain there is always a rainbow and it is so true. Nothing is better than a Happy Ending:)
Hello Huffs,
I love reading your updates. We are constantly thinking of you guys. Tate reminds me everyday that Lizzie was not on the bus and Cole has been thinking lots of Spencer. We would love to have him down whenever. I just love that little Lizzie and hope the best for her. She has the sweetest spirit and can light up any room. She is truly beautiful inside and out. Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys. You are such an awesome family!

I haven't been able to read your posts since Saturday. Our internet cord was broken. You sure have had some lil' improvements along the way. I'm super excited for you and your family to see those miracles happen before your eyes. You sooo need those right now with the downs happening at times too. I KNOW you will keep the faith...that's just who you are!! What a awesome Mom and friends you have to make your home a lil' slice of heaven on earth to come home to. Abbie wanted me to tell you "her fish, flappy fasted for Lizzie too"...lol!! Seeing you guys on Friday was the HIGHLIGHT of my week!! Lizzie's gorgeous smile and giggle was MORE than I expected!!! You ALL mean so much to me. You are sooo beautiful Carol in in EVERY sense of the word. Prayers and HUGS!
Love, Donette & Rob Julian and family ;)
You guys are a true inspiration. Erin and I are amazed at your strength as we read your blogs. We collectively wipe away the tears as we read your updates. It was especially touching as we read of your return home and the time you spent crying with Spencer. We have said that Gabe would be a complete wreck if anything like this ever happened to Caroline. You two are true examples to us. We pray that Lizzie's recovery will be full and that she will be able to look back at this time with appreciation for great parents that have displayed tremendous faith and love. Thank you for your examples! Gifford amd Erin
Thank for the update.... so happy to hear of the little improvements each day :) Last night after FHE Austin was literally running around the house yelling "we need to have prayer for LIZZY right NOW!!!!!" He alone gathered the family by yanking kyle out of the shower for prayer... and he kept repeating "Lizzy needs our prayers" So poor soaking wet kyle quickly came out and Austin - still focused on Lizzy - had a very nice prayer.... nothing like the urgency of a 5 year old :) love you Wade julie and boys
I know we have to teach our kids not to use these words, but inside we are laughing our hineys off. I love you so much and hope things continue to be positive. She is still in my prayers and I know she has the best mom ever to always be there for her!
Happy days! SO glad that yoiu are seeing some happy times. Love you! I really would love it if you would call me. (when you can) Please! I have something for you!
Ben and Carol, We will keep you all in our prayers. We are so sorry you are having to go through this kind of trial in your lives. Best wishes to all of you, Dave and Coleen Bay
